This is the new interpretationandmethods list that was previously run by Jeremy Hunsinger. Because his hosting provider was dropping mailman lists, the list had to be moved.

In Dvora Yanow's words: "The idea for this listserv was cooked up 23 years ago while I was on sabbatical at UC Berkeley's Center for the Study of Law and Society, with support from Robert Adcock, then finishing up his Ph.D. in the political science department there, and a handful of other informal 'advisory board' members. For several years, the list served not only as a place for sharing information and announcements, but also for often lively conversations about methods and methodological topics. All one had to do was pose a question, and list members would reply. The spirit that characterized these exchanges was one of collaborative and collegial generosity, enthusiasm, and intellectual engagement. I saved several of these to reread later -- some of them actually required careful study if one didn't already know the theories, and theorists, involved! In short, the list served to build a community of like-minded colleagues across different political science subfields and other disciplines, regardless of academic rank."

We hope to keep this spirit alive.
